Yellow Admiral visits the Dubai International Boat Show - March 2009

Good news for Yellow Admiral at the Dubai International Boat Show in March 2009

At a time when many British jobs in the marine sector are in jeopardy there is some rare good news emanating from Dubai where Yellow Admiral took part in a very successful UKTI Trade Visit to the Dubai International Boat Show.

The company had planned to meet existing customers
and was also hoping to develop new ones, and Simon Wakefield, Managing Director, was pleased to report that the company had gained new business with both.
Yellow Admiral was awarded contracts to recruit a range staff including a complete design team for a Dubai based yacht manufacturer, project managers for superyacht builds, and senior managers for a marine electronics company with branches right across the Gulf region. Simon was also pleasantly surprised by the strong demand for Human Resources and Finance management staff with marine industry experience.
Simon commented “It is reassuring in these difficult times that there are still areas of the marine industry looking to expand and this provides some excellent opportunities for British candidates who have the sort of training and experience that is so highly valued in the UAE”.

Simon also took part in the annual Gulf Boating Conference 2009 was held at the Dubai International Marine Club at the same time as the Boat Show.
Simon spoke about the development of the leisure marine sector across the Middle East and commented that the continued expansion of this sector provided great opportunities for companies such as Yellow Admiral who could recruit high quality expatriate staff seeking work in this exciting location.

Dubai-bye winter blues - Yellow Admiral onboard with Sailing Networks

Sailing Networks, the world's leading social networking website for boaters, is continuing the development of its service portfolio through a partnership deal with a leading marine recruitment specialist, Yellow Admiral

Hot on the heels of its recent affiliation with boat-friendly wireless broadband provider Oceanwave, Sailing Networks has just reveled details of another business partnership, this time with one of the UK's leading marine recruitment specialists.

Essex-based Yellow Admiral has over 35 years of experience in specialist recruitment and has been at the forefront of the current boom in expat employment in the emerging marine sectors of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.

"This is a major addition to our partnership portfolio", explains Piers Covill of Sailing Networks. "We have created a one-stop-shop for employment in the marine sector. On one side, Yellow Admiral has great boating contacts and gets the pick of the jobs being offered around the world; on the other, Sailing Networks has a huge network of potential applicants who all have a pre-qualified interest in the same sector".

This combination of factors helps the employment process from both ends. Marine companies can find the right people for their vacancies with a significant reduction in filtering, and jobseekers can benefit from the experience and focus of a specialist agency.

"In difficult economic times there are always pockets of activity that buck the trend", explains Denise Robinson of Yellow Admiral. "We have recently been concentrating our marketing efforts in the Middle East which is proving to be very successful. We are now supplying staff from the UK to work for a number of marine firms in the region".

So, if you want to swap the chill winds of a UK economic winter for the bright sunshine of the world's fastest growing marine sector, then check-out the job vacancies in Dubai at You can login and post your own CV or just browse the vacancies that are currently available.
